Using Waypoint means agreeing to what is below. It is short on purpose.
What Waypoint is
A tool that reads your own Canvas coursework and helps you understand it: what is due, what a piece of work is graded on, where your grade stands, and a workspace for the groups Canvas puts you in. You use it with your own account and your own coursework.
It will not do your work, and you should not ask it to
Waypoint does not write, draft, generate or submit anything for you. That is a deliberate product boundary and it will not be relaxed.
You remain responsible for following your institution’s academic-integrity rules. Using Waypoint to understand an assignment is not misconduct anywhere we know of; that does not make us your authority on the question. If your programme has rules about third-party tools, they apply.
The numbers are computed, not official
Grades, projections and deadlines shown in Waypoint are calculated from what Canvas reports. They can be wrong — an instructor may grade outside Canvas, apply a late policy by hand, adjust weights mid-term, or configure something in a way the calculation does not anticipate.
Canvas and your instructor are authoritative. Waypoint is not. Do not make a decision that matters — dropping a course, skipping an assignment — on a Waypoint figure without checking it.
Your account
Do not connect an account that is not yours. Do not use Waypoint to access coursework you are not enrolled in. Do not attempt to reach another group’s workspace.
Group workspaces are shared with real classmates. What you post there is subject to your institution’s conduct rules exactly as it would be anywhere else. Accounts used to harass people will be removed.
Paying
Groups, chat, discussions and the seven-day view are free and are intended to stay free. Waypoint Plus is $4.99 per month, billed by Stripe, and cancellable at any time — you keep it until the end of the period you have paid for.
If something is genuinely broken and you paid for it, email and you will get your money back. That is a commitment, not a process.
Availability
Waypoint is new and small. It may be unavailable, and it depends on Canvas being available. There is no uptime guarantee, and it is not a system to rely on as your only record of a deadline — Canvas is that record.
Ending it
Stop using it whenever you like; sign out and it is gone from your browser. See Privacy for deleting what is stored. Accounts may be removed for the conduct described above.
Liability
Waypoint is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, it is not liable for academic outcomes — a missed deadline, a grade, a course result. It is a tool that helps you see your work; the work and the decisions remain yours.
Not affiliated with Instructure
Waypoint is independent. Canvas is a product of Instructure, which has no involvement in it and does not endorse it.
